How Do You Troubleshoot DSL Connection Problems?
Connection problems like sync issues and interference can cripple your DSL connection. Keeping a fast connection is all about maintaining a strong and clean signal with as short a distance to travel as possible. A couple of handy tips can get your connection back up to speed and eliminate some of the kinks in your setup. Unplug the power cable from the back of the DSL modem for about 30 seconds and then replug it—it’s simple, but a quick power cycle of the modem will briefly reset the modem and will often restore your connection. Check your router connection. If your router has a blinking status light, then you wont receive the DSL signal—try power cycling your router. Check all of the filters on the phone line your DSL service is using. Make sure each filter is securely inserted into a phone jack—every device plugged into the shared line should have a filter on it.
