Troubleshooting audio speakers with no sound can be an easy visual examination, and fixing or replacing torn or blown speakers and shorted wires is relatively simple, and not too costly. Check for quick visual clues. This can be torn surrounds, holes or tears in the cone, or no incursion/excursion of the speaker itself. If there’s an ohm meter available, test the connections, first from the speaker binding posts, then from the cable lengths. Patch cone holes of tears with a little rubber cement or silicon caulk.
