Many of today’s gadgets use SD cards to store everything from photographs, document files and even music. These SD cards are used by electronic equipment ranging from cellular phones and music players to laptops and even digital cameras. If you use equipment that comes with an SD card, knowing how to troubleshoot it will prove to be useful, especially if your SD card stops functioning and your valuable files face being lost. Step 1 Save the contents of the SD card on your computer as a backup if you are experiencing difficulties with operating the storage device. Doing so will minimize any lost or damaged files that are saved within the device. Step 2 Attempt a format on the SD card through the use of the device where the card is normally used. Whether on a portable music player, camera, game or other type of electronic device, there are usually options that allow you to format the SD card. Choose the FAT file structure, which is most commonly used on SD cards, unless specified otherwi
