Temperature is regulated with a thermostat, which measures the ambient temperature, and switches the HVAC system on and off to maintain your selected level. Troubleshooting is easy. Check whether the system is cooling properly. Run the Trane HVAC with the thermostat set to a cooler level than the ambient temperature. Verify cold air is coming out of the vents. If the air is warm, turn the air conditioner off for one to three hours to reset the thermostat.
