How Do You Troubleshoot A Slow Running Computer Network?
Is your network of shared resources is running very slow lately. Are all of your computers running slow. You open a file from your file server and it takes a considerable amount of time to open, what can it be? It maybe a simple fix if you know where to begin looking. Step 1 Update your current anti virus database, and run a full system scan. This can take a considerably long time so be patient. Step 2 Check for malware, I like a program called malwarebytes. This program will look for malicious software hidden and not recognized by your standard anti virus. With a trojan running in the background this can slow your system down. Step 3 Make sure all systems are updated with windows critical updates. Step 4 Reboot your file server, this could have a program hung in memory and since these computers very rarely get rebooted this can be a cause.
