How Do You Troubleshoot A Sewing Machine?
Sometimes a sewing machine malfunctions because of improper threading, incorrect needle size or overheating. Troubleshoot these common problems with your machine if they’re preventing you from finishing those kitchen curtains. Turn the power off if the machine stops suddenly. This may mean that the machine is overheating or that it has been set at low speeds for a long time, which drains power. Wait 20 minutes for the machine’s safety device to reset, then try again. Replace the presser foot and needle inside the center of the sewing machine if it doesn’t run at all. This may happen because the needle falls out and gets jammed in the machine’s hook, or the presser foot size is incorrect. Check the thread count if the sewing needle stops moving. Add more thread to the spool and thread component if you run out.
