How Do You Troubleshoot A Car Starter Ignition Problem?

0

The starter motor in your car turns the flywheel and helps facilitate the starting of your car’s engine. It gets the flywheel turning, which turns the crankshaft and gets the pistons moving. This, in turn, creates the vacuum pressure needed to draw in air then compress the fuel mixture inside the engine so that it can be ignited. When your starter dies or becomes weak due to regular use, you’ll need to replace it. Replacement starter motors can be purchased from most auto parts stores. But, before replacing the starter, troubleshoot the problem. Open the fuse panel underneath the steering column. Use the fuse diagram on the underside of the fuse cover to locate the fuse for the starter motor then pull the fuse for the starter motor using the fuse pullers in the fuse panel. Check the metallic strip inside the fuse. If it is broken or damaged in any way, replace the fuse with a new fuse of the same amperage. Open the hood and set the dial on your voltmeter to “Volts.” Touch the red lead
