This may seem obvious, but it is a frequent mistake. Check the status on the LCD screen (it should read “Ready”) and make sure the power lamp is green and not flashing. Check for error messages. Look for messages or message indicators on both the printer’s LCD screen and on your desktop. Indicators may include flashing lights or a solid red light instead of a green one.
