How Do You Treat Hyperthyroidism Or Graves Disease?
The signs and symptoms of Graves’ disease or hyperthyroidism have been discussed in my article, “How to Know If You Have Graves’ Disease” (click below). This article will explain how to treat this condition. Briefly, Graves’ disease is an autoimmune disease where the body abnormally stimulates production thyroid hormone resulting in a high catabolic state, meaning there is an increased and unnecessary burning of all the available energy reserves such as glucose and fat. Currently there are three major treatment options available for people with Graves’ disease. I will be discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each of these therapeutic modalities in three steps below.
