How Do You Treat And Prevent Bed Sores?
There are many things one can try to prevent bed sores. Bedsores are common amongst individuals with limited mobility who spend a lot of time in bed or in a wheel chair. These painful skin lesions can lead to some serious skin and blood infections and often brings great discomfort to the sufferer which is why it is so important to know what you can do to help prevent bed sores. Do not allow the individual or patient to lay in the same spot for extensive periods of time. Alternate their laying(left side/right side/back/stomach) or sitting position regularly to prevent bed sores. Keep bedding and clothing dry especially if it will be in contact with their skin to help prevent bed sores. After bathing be sure that drying is complete and change bedding if it becomes damp. This can cause the skin to break down quicker and cause breakage and tearing in the skin.
