How do you treat a bite from Scutigera coleoptrata (House Centipede)?
I believe my son was bitten by one. Although there have been some cases where a house centipede has bitten people, they have weak jaws and have difficulty penetrating the skin. When a bite does occur it normally results in swelling and slight pain but is usually no worse than that of a bee sting. In order to determine what could be biting your son, the use of sticky traps (glueboards) around the area where the biting is occuring should give you an indication of the pest activity. Your inquiry about treatment for your son is best handled by a physician.
