Southeast Michigan’s wine country is home to an array of wineries, quaint antique shops, bed and breakfasts and a plethora of family-owned restaurants. The region is a great place to spend a few hours (or a few days). Follow these easy steps to travel the Southeast Michigan Wine Trail. Visit the Southeast Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail website and download a map of the region (see Resources below). This site also has information on area attractions and links to each winery on the tour. Check the winery websites for tasting hours and tour schedules. Begin the wine trail in the area that is most convenient for you. It can be started from any winery. Plan your route for a stop at each vintner on the trail. Stop by the wineries and taste their selections. Southeast Michigan grows some of the best, most flavorful grapes in the Midwest. Many wineries also have selections of fruit brandies and dessert wines. Purchase bottles of wine you enjoy on the tour. They’re often not available in stores. M
