How Do You Trap, Alter And Release Feral Cats (TNR)?
If you are feeding feral cats, it is your responsibility to spay and neuter these cats, as well, to avoid overpopulation. Cats reproduce extremely fast, but a feral colony can be controlled and enjoyed. All it takes is some time and a lot of patience! Make arrangements with a vet or clinic so that you can take your feral cats into be altered right away, if possible. The cats will be ok to stay in the trap overnight if there is no other option. Your vet will need to understand that they need to be flexible, since trapping cats is not an exact science. You will need to gather your supplies. Trapping cats works best when they are hungry. Place the trap with the door set. Put some food inside the trap. DO NOT put food anywhere else other than in the trap for now. Now you will need to get away from the trap and just wait. If you have a large colony, you will trap one or two right away. If your colony is smaller, it may take some time. These cats are very smart and they know how to survive,
