How Do You Transition From Breast Milk To Formula?

0

When you have decided that you no longer want to breast feed or pump you may wonder how you can make transitioning to formula easier on you and your baby. Just by following this few tips your baby will be enjoying a bottle of formula before you know it. Transitioning from breast milk to formula may take some time since your baby will not be used to its taste. Start slowly by substituting one feeding of breast milk a day to formula. As the days go on continue to increase the amount of formula feedings every 2-3 days until all feedings are formula instead of breast milk. If you are bottle feeding breast milk start by mixing 3/4 breast milk to 1/4 formula. Once the initial 2-3 days have passed increase the formula by 1/4 while decreasing the breast milk by 1/4 every 2-3 days until the bottle is eventually all formula.
