Correction – I just re-read your post. The Sony DCR-SR87 is a hard disc drive based, consumer grade camcorder. It can deal with only very compressed mpg video files. As far as I know, there is no way to get the video files on your computer into the correct format and compression, copy those files over to the camcorder and play those video files back using the camcorder. As far as I know, the only camcorder recording format that can have the computer export the finished video project (or any video, for that matter) back to the camcorder and allow the camcorder to be used as a “playback deck” is miniDV tape. (Digital8 tape can too, but those camcorders are not manufactured new).
