How Do You Train A Surgical Technologist?
A surgical technologist is basically a doctor’s assistant in the operating room. They are responsible for setting up the equipment tables, making sure that used equipment and tissues are handled properly, monitoring equipment during the operation to make sure that they are working properly and prepping the patient for surgery. If you are in charge of hiring and training surgical technologists for a medical practice or hospital, you must provide proper training to ensure that each technologist can do his job with the proficiency required. Step 1 Require your surgical technologists to complete at least basic coursework in surgical technology.
