“How do you train a homing pigeon to fly into enemy targets carrying explosives?” – Well, I’m sure that it wouldn’t be impossible to train homing pigeons to fly directly into enemy targets that were carrying explosives, but what would be the point of that? The pigeons wouldn’t have nearly enough body mass to damage the enemy targets and so they’d have a negligable chance of setting off the explosives inside. If the enemy targets were airplanes, you might be able to use flocks of pigeons to bring down those planes by training the pigeons to fly – as a concentrated bunch – directly into the propellor blades or jet engine intakes. You might also be able to train large flocks of bigger birds – gulls or albatrosses maybe – to bring down planes by crashing headfirst into them and so bringing down those planes by sheer weight or even by bloodying the cockpit windshields and gunking up various ports, intakes, and antennae. Ick. Personally, I’d say birds are a pretty inefficie
