How Do You Train A Boxer Pup?
One of the earliest dog breeds used in German police work, the boxer is intelligent, strong and fun loving. With a desire to learn and to please their owners, boxers make effective hunting dogs, companions and service dogs. The adult boxer will mature to a weight of between 25 and 50 pounds, with females being slightly smaller and of more delicate stature. Training and socialization are imperative throughout a boxer’s life. Begin training your boxer as soon as you bring him home. Boxers, especially puppies, are very active and without training, they may play too roughly with small children or jump on adults. Your boxer puppy will benefit from a puppy kindergarten where you and he will work together to master the basic commands of sit, stay, down, heel and come.
