The Waverly Hills Sanatorium, located in Louisville, Kentucky, opened in 1910 as a tuberculosis hospital. The sanatorium housed a large number of the tuberculosis population located in the swampy Louisville area. Waverly Hills Sanatorium was closed in 1961, but reopened in 1962 as a facility for geriatric patients.
