How Do You Tomahawk Throw A Flying Disc?
The tomahawk throw is a flashy throw especially suited for ultimate – or for impressing your friends. Grab the disc with your middle and index fingers extended on the inside edge and your thumb on the outside. Hold the disc perpendicular to the ground, unlike in most throws, for which the disc starts parallel to the ground. Bend your elbow so your arm forms a 90-degree angle. Bring your arm back so your forearm is parallel to the ground, your elbow is pointed forward, and the disc is just behind your ear, its top facing toward you. Complete the throw with a chopping motion, as the name suggests. Release the disc when your arm is pointed straight up. The disc will flip over in midflight and descend upside down.
