Maltipoos can be difficult to toilet train because of their size. They simply cannot hold their bladders as long as a larger breed puppy. Housetraining your maltipoo will take patience, perseverance and time. Though toilet training a maltipoo puppy does have challenges, you can rest assured your pup will eventually learn this important skill. Choose a safe and easy-to-clean area of the home, such as an area with tile flooring, for your maltipoo to stay during toilet training. Use a baby gate to restrict your maltipoo puppy to this area. A puppy given run of the entire house may choose a less desirable spot to “potty” and you will have to work extra hard to break a bad habit. Lay down puppy pads or newspaper on one area of the floor.
