There are a thousand ways to ride a horse, but one thing most of the styles of riding have in common is some form of saddle. Horses are not born with the knowledge of carrying a saddle, and so, like most activities associated with riding, we must train them to accept a saddle. This article touches only on a single method; there are likely at least a dozen other equally legitimate methods that may vary only in a few points or may be completely different.
