How Do You Tint Glass Automobile Windows?
Check with your state laws first before attempting this project. Some states may have restrictions on tinted windows. It’s advisable to purchase a kit that comes with the necessary tools and the film is already cut to the correct size for your car. The tools in “Thins You’ll Need”, with the exception of the heat gun, distilled water, baby shampoo, and spray bottle should be included with the kit. The rear window kit may have to be purchased separately and does not have to be from the same manufacture. Mix ΒΌ tsp of baby shampoo with 1 quart of distilled water. Clean outside and inside of window with cleaning solution and wipe dry with a lint free cloth or paper towels. Using the plastic scraper, scrap off any dirt that has remained on the window. Remove weather gasket from window. Wet inside of window using distilled water; remove film from liner and wet sticky side of liner. Roll down window slightly and apply film to inside of window.
