Measure and cut one strand of each of the six colors. Tie a starting knot about one inch from the end and attach the strings to a firm surface. Organize the threads to lay from left to right in the order of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Take the red and orange strands. Make a left-hand knot (LHK) with the red on the orange strand. Move the orange strand aside to the left. Take the red and yellow strands.
