How Do You Tie Lead Core Fishing Line?
Lead core fishing line is used for deep water trolling. The lead core helps the line sink and get your bait to the proper depth. Most brands of lead core lines are color coded for easy identification. Some lines change color every 10 yards to help determine how much line is in the water, this helps the angler determine the sink rate of the line. The lead core has to be handled differently then standard mono-filament line because the lead can break which will weaken the line. Use an Albright Special knot to join lead core line to monofilament. This is by far the best, strongest and most reliable knot to use.
