How Do You Tie A Rope Halter?

0

• Pick up the halter and enter your horse’s stall or paddock. Slip the horse’s nose through the noseband and bring the headpiece behind the ears. The throatlatch should rest just behind the horse’s cheek. • Put the end of the headpiece through the loop on the throatlatch. Pull it tight until you can slip about three fingers under the throatlatch. • Now comes the tricky part. Bring the loose end of the headpiece around the side of the loop, behind it. • Pull the loose end all the way around, feed it through the circle formed by the headpiece and loose end, and tighten it. If you have tied the halter correctly, there should be a piece of loose rope sticking up (not down). Time for a ride!
