This knot is used to tie a horse up so that when required the rope can be released by pulling the loose end. • Take a piece of rope. • Pass the loose end through a tie ring. • Hold both sides of the rope with the ring in the middle, make a small loop in the loose end by turning the bottom towards you and up. Lay the loose end over the front of the rope that goes to the horse and let it dangle down. • Reach through the loop you created under the ‘horse end’ rope take hold of the dangling loose end. • Bring a loop of the loose end back through, but don’t let the end come through too. Pull the knot tight enough to stay tied.
