How Do You Throw A Left Handed Slider?
The slider is the name given to a pitch in the sport of baseball that breaks down and across the plate when thrown. The pitch is considered a “breaking” ball because of its movement. The speed of the pitch is generally in between that of a fastball and curveball. To throw a slider, you need to learn how to position your fingers on the ball and throw with the proper motion. Place the middle finger of your left hand along the seem of the baseball so that it curves along the horseshoe shape of the seem. Place your index finger directly next to the position of the middle finger so that the two fingers are touching. Hold the opposite side of the ball gently with your thumb. Place your pinky and ring finger next to each other so that they are touching, but so that only the ring finger is touching the ball. These two fingers should be spread apart from the index and middle finger. Begin your pitching wind-up as you normally would and prepare to release the ball as your index and middle finger
