“The knuckle curve ball can be gripped in various ways and knuckle ball pitchers will vary greatly in how they grip the ball. It can literally be gripped with the fingertips or it can be gripped with the knuckles. The purpose of a knuckle curve ball is to create movement that curves much like a regular curve ball. The knuckle curve ball takes years to develop, should only spin about one rotation but it gets to be a very effective pitch. It can break to the left, it can break to the right and it is basically how the pitch is released by the pitcher on each side of the ball as to which direction the knuckle curve ball curves.
