• Get the right type of decorations. The venue should appear dark and ghost-like, so forget about pre-made plastic decorations. Turn off all electric lights in favor of candles which create a more mysterious mood. If you have an old chandelier, use it. Put fake spiderwebs in corners, but don’t place them too close to the candles. Anything that looks old and dark works really well. • Play dream pop or Gothic rock. Light vocals, drum machines and weird, whiny noises are perfect. • Watch plenty of horror movies, especially the black and white ones. If there is a cemetery nearby, go there. Go trick or treating.
