How Do You Throw A 12-6 Curveball Pitch?
“The 12 – 6 curveball is essentially a curveball that breaks from almost straight down. It is accomplished by gripping the largest finger on to the seams, into the seams into the horseshoe with a very light amount of grip on the first finger. When you release the ball you release it more from the top than you would on a traditional curve ball and try to let the ball roll over your first finger in a waterfall position in the back of your hand towards home plate, creating as much downward spin as possible. As a result the ball will break down 12 – 6 in almost a straight down manner and drop as late as possible when it reaches the batter at home plate.
