Independent film distribution has never been easy, with approximately 15-20 percent of the marketplace given to independent films. What has been most noticeable since Dogwoof was founded is the explosion in the number of independent distributors, and with it the number of films being released. Around 10-15 films are now released a week, and there are simply lots more independents fighting for the same slice of the marketplace as there has ever been.
