How do you think history would have been different, had neither Europe nor Britain accepted Christianity?
There is no way to answer that. Christianity is so vital to the history of Europe as we know it. For starters, the British Empire would have operated in a vastly different way and probably wouldn’t have existed at all in a cultural sense. We wouldn’t have had the Reformation.. which.. has had a huge impact on the history of Europe in general. I mean. The Reformation and its repercussions are centuries of European history. There would be no such thing as divine right of kings in political thought. We wouldn’t have had the conflict between the king and the parliament in the same way as it did happen. The history of European thought and philosophy and logic would be very different. The other great impact on European culture is of course classical antiquity, but even that has been so intertwined with Christianity it would be hard to say… It’s impossible to answer.
I think we would have been a lot more uncivilised in the past speaking say 1 thousand years ago and still been nomads worshipping pagan gods. Then we would have lost out on a lot of friendships with other countries because we would not have anything in common them with them speaking 1 thousand years ago again if no one where christian. Today we would be a smaller country less populated with less money and not as famous world wide through Christianity we have brought civilisation and wealth to our country only now are we abandoning it sad really it is our history and we are leaving it behind.
