HOW DO YOU THINK APARTHEID IS SIMILAR TO PROBLEMS AFRICAN AMERICANS HAVE FACED IN AMERICA?

In recent times – the last 40 years say, African Americans have suffered relatively little discrimination at home compared to blacks under apartheid and frankly in many other places too. The situations were not at all similar, South Africa being a developing country with a black majority and being fairly backward until the economy took off in the 60’s and 70’s. Furthermore, not a politcally correct thing to say, but had there been universal sufferage in 1948, whilst there would have been no apartheid and a black government, there would probably have been a lot less development and the country would have remained a back water.
