How do you think American culture is different from other cultures?

It is different in that there is no real “American culture”. With the exception of abstract shared-ideas like “The American Dream” and apple-pie worship, American society is very individualistic – due to many reasons: its Capitalistic tendencies, its history of rebelling against colonial authority, its empowerment of local authorities (i.e. “right to bear arms”), and other reasons. If you compare the general “culture” of a place like El Paso, Texas with the culture of Greenwich Village, New York or Nashville, Tennessee… You’d think they were different countries.
