Testing the ignition coil on your 1993 Jeep Cherokee will help you diagnose some engine problems with your Jeep. The coils are mounted low on the passenger’s side on the 4.0 liter engine, the most common engine in these trucks, and can be accessed relatively easily. Testing the coil is not unlike testing a coil on any vehicle, but you will need a multimeter to perform the test.
