How smart are you, really? Wonder whether something is holding you back in your career or social life? The Internet offers a bewildering array of aptitude, interest and personality tests, but be careful. Lots of bogus “tests” lurk out there waiting to prey upon your wallet or your hard drive. If you want an accurate mental aptitude test, see a psychologist. If you’re just curious, some relatively accurate online tests may give you insight about your aptitude, personality and intelligence. Search for online test using the keywords “IQ” or “intelligence” and “test.” You’ll get a list of online tests that are free and not so free. Open a general article on intelligence testing to familiarize yourself with what intelligence testing is supposed to do. Choose a test and look for information about how the test was created, who created it and how it relates to other standardized intelligence tests.
