How Do You Test For Iodine Deficiency?
Iodine is one of the major nutrients the body needs! Iodine disinfects the blood as the blood flows through the thyroid. If you do not have enough iodine, your thyroid will not function properly and your body will not be able to properly disinfect the harmful bacteria, mold, yeast and microforms in your blood. One of the easiest ways to test for iodine deficiency is to purchase a small bottle of iodine (around $3 at the drug store). Experts suggest putting about a quarter sized swipe (you might have to swipe it twice) of the iodine right onto the inside of your wrist where the skin is thin and the iodine can easily permiate. Your body will absorb what it needs. Experts say that if the iodine mark disappears from your wrist within 8 hours, you are severely iodine deficient. If it disappears within 16 hours, you are moderately deficient. In a normal, healthy person, the iodine mark should not disappear for 24 hours. So what do you do if you are iodine deficient? Eat more sea vegetables!
