How Do You Test Curling Iron Heat Elements?
If you know how to test curling iron heat elements, it can save you time and money. It is very quick and easy. Most heating elements are known to be open/enclosed coil or open ribbon. They are made up of chrome alloy or nickel. Most elements cannot be repaired, but they usually can be replaced. Step 1 Turn off power to the appliance or device. Be sure that it is unplugged as well. Step 2 Disassemble the appliance or device to access the heating element. Step 3 Set the multimeter to the resistance scale (RX1). Step 4 Touch the multimeter probes to each end of the element. High resistance of many ohms displaying means that your heating element is just fine. Step 5 Replace a faulty heating element with one of the exact size, shape, power rating and resistance if a heating element is faulty. Step 6 Reassemble the appliance or device, and turn it on or plug it in to test it.
