Most children when they think of Easter think only of Easter egg hunts, candy, and the Easter bunny. As you know though, the true meaning of Easter has nothing to do with bunny rabbits and Easter eggs, but with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the day that Jesus rose for us and rather than allow children only to think that it is a “fun” holiday, it may be time to start thinking about telling them the true meaning of Easter. Since children normally have a lot of questions, it is best to do it in stages so that they fully understand what you are telling them. Start with the basics. Sit down with your children and start out just by talking about the Christian religion and who Jesus Christ is. It stands to reason that if you are having this talk with them then you are of the Christian faith so they may already have an idea of who Jesus is.
