How Do You Tell If An Engine Block Is Cracked?
It can be difficult to diagnose a cracked block on a car engine. Many different things can be wrong, but all of those things can also mean something else is wrong. If you recognize a couple of the symptoms below in your car, there’s a good chance your engine block is cracked. If none of them are familiar, it’s probably not cracked. Check to see if your engine is leaking oil and/or coolant. This causes your engine to overheat and, if not fixed, could cause it to freeze up altogether. Check your oil and antifreeze for contamination. Sometimes a cracked block causes antifreeze to leak into the oil system or oil to leak into the radiator of the car.
