If you’re trying to learn a guitar on your own, not only do you have to put yourself in the position of student, but also as teacher. When you set goals, make up a lesson plan, chart your progress, and reward yourself; you may find that you can finally stay with learning that guitar. Get instruction books, CDs and/or videos. You can find them in music stores, some book stores (new and used), and Online. Thrift stores often have used ones, too. You can also borrow them from a library. Put yourself in the position of a teacher. Start thinking of a lesson plan. Set a goal. Choose a date for when you want to have completed the first lesson book.
