How Do You Teach Art Projects To Preschoolers?
Most young children enjoy exploring the world of art. The process of creating a work of art is more important than the final product at the preschool stage of development. Try to use a variety of textures, colors and media to enhance the creativity process. Gather and prepare the materials needed for the project in advance. Organize everything and have it ready to go in order of use. Stopping to find and gather items will distract young children, and you might lose their attention. Give students art tools for each step when each item is needed. Don’t just hand everything out at once. Students will become confused about what to do next if there are too many items in front of them. For example, if glue is not needed until Step 3, don’t hand it out as you begin Step 1. Verbalize and demonstrate how to complete each step. Give preschoolers one instruction at a time, and wait for the class to finish before going to the next step. Preschool art projects should have three to five steps. Encou
