• Prepare your note pad by writing the chapter or section number and date at the top of your paper. • Begin with the title of your chapter as your heading, place this after a roman numeral. Example: I) Quadratic Functions. • Indent a bit, and add a description of the type of problem your teacher will be solving, or the method by which it will be solved. It doesn’t have to be the mathematically correct term (although, practice is perfect so you really should try to use the correct terms), but whatever will help you quickly find the type of problem you are looking for while studying. This should be written after a capital letter. Example: A) Solving with the Quadratic Equation. • Indent again, then number examples of that type of problem underneath, leaving ample room to be able to write in later. You only need to write the directions for the first example problem, as they are all under the same heading. • Add another heading for the next type of problem. Example: B) Using factoring. • W
