The 1988 Camaro has a set of bucket seats designed for performance driving. Over time, the foam and upholstery in these seats can start to break down, which will make them uncomfortable and unappealing to the eye. To fix the problem, the seats have to be removed from the car so they can be disassembled properly. This process should take approximately 15 minutes per seat to do and does not require any special tools. Open up the door of your 1988 Chevy Camaro. Slide the seat forward all the way using the slide rail at the base of the seat. Locate the rear seat bolts on the floorboards and unbolt them using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Slide the seat back to its furthest position. Locate the front seat bolts at the base of the seat. Unbolt these using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Lean the backrest of the seat forward using the seat adjuster. Place one hand on the headrest of the seat and another at the base, just above the adjuster.
