How Do You Take Care Of Kittens?
• Prepare for the arrival of the kittens. Prepare an area that the mother cat (queen) can easily get in and out of. It should be out of the high traffic areas of your apartment, house, barn or property. It should be a well sheltered area that is away from dangerous chemicals, tools and machinery is wise as little kittens are quite curious and we don’t want them to get into any trouble or hurt. • If you will be making an area for the queen to have her kittens, you will want to put down an old clean towel with old sheets of newspaper under it in the birthing area. Be prepared for blood and fluids to leak into the towel and through to the paper, as this is a normal part of the birthing process. When done, dispose of that towel properly and replace with another for the kittens and queen to sleep on. • Prepare for birth.
