Easter lilies are a lovely spring flower. Their pretty blooms and delicious fragrance fills any home or garden with beauty. Easter lilies seem rather fragile, but with a few simple steps the life of the flower can be extended for you to enjoy longer. Choose a healthy plant with dark green foliage and flowers in various stages of bloom. The plant should have 2 to 3 partly opened flowers and several unopened buds which will bloom in the next several days. Remove the decorative foil around the plant’s pot. Water the plant when the soil feels dry, but do not overwater or allow the plant to sit in standing water. For best results, water the lily while holding over a sink to allow the water to drain out through the holes in the bottom. This ensures that the soil has been well saturated.
