• Make sure you clean your violin regularly, and when you’re done playing, wipe off the violin and strings, and make sure you get under the bridge. When cleaning, DO NOT use alcohol or any other substance that was not made specifically for the violin, viola, cello, etc. The violin is a beautiful instrument, and can be kept that way by following proper guidelines. • DO NOT leave your violin in the car. The temperature and humidity will cause the wood to crack, swell, or bend. To maintain proper humidity inside your case, it is helpful to purchase a humidifier. • Keep your instrument in a moderate environment with constant 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures and 50% humidity. If you move from a place with high temperatures and humidity, such as Miami, to a place with low temperatures and humidity, introduce yuor violin gradually to these changes.
