DON’T separate her from her pups. There’s almost no way for you to keep the babies alive. First time mother hamsters often eat their pups, they don’t know what’s going on and often the humans involved don’t either, so the mother is under stress and eats them. Second time mothers, even those who ate their pups the first time, have a much higher success rate. Remove the male before she gives birth ideally. If it’s too late for that, try to remove him with as little interference to the mother as possible. Then just leave her alone, give her a high protein healthy diet, and try not to stare too much. Just leave her alone.
