For those who want more storage, or simply want to upgrade on the cheap, the Xbox 360 hard drive can be disassembled and replaced with the standard 2.5 inch SATA hard drive of your choice. Opening your hard drive, though, will void your Xbox warranty. Be certain this is what you want to do and proceed with caution. Shut down the Xbox 360 console and unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Remove the hard drive, which is located on the left side of the console. Press the hard drive release button, lift, and slide out the hard drive. Remove the four Torx screws with the Torx T6 screwdriver. One of the screws is located behind a Microsoft logo sticker.
